K.C. Sherman has been a meteorologist at Spectrum News for almost two years and loves the challenge Charlotte’s always-changing weather presents. She’s especially excited to be working in a market that is experiencing so much rapid growth, and one where the people are so welcoming and kind.
Born and raised in New Orleans, K.C. is no stranger to the South and, of course, the tropical storm systems that affect it. Growing up in a hurricane-prone area sparked her interest in weather and eventually led her to pursue a degree in atmospheric science with a minor in mathematics from the University of Missouri.
During her undergraduate years, she studied for a semester at one of the world's leading meteorology departments at the University of Reading in England.
When not filling viewers in on the forecast, K.C. enjoys exploring North Carolina and trying new restaurants and breweries. New Zealand Cafe (a hole in the wall sushi place with the “best sushi in Charlotte”) and Sycamore Brewery are among her favorites.
