MONROE, N.C. — Improvement projects on more than 25 miles of state roads in Union County could begin as soon as the end of April.
Milling, resurfacing, and shoulder reconstruction will take place on 20 miles of roads. Those areas will include:
- N.C. 207 between Stack Road and West Morrow Avenue
- Old Waxhaw-Monroe Road between Potter Road South and Providence Road
Milling, resurfacing, and shoulder grading will also take place along seven miles of 12 secondary roads, which include sections of the following:
- Stinson Hartis Road
- Tilley Morris Road
- Price Shortcut Road
- Brief Road
The North Carolina Department of Transportation says the projects are part of two recently awarded contracts totalling roughly $5.8 million.
The work is currently scheduled to last through July 1, 2022.
