NORTH CAROLINA -- The North Carolina Baseball Museum is ready to host all baseball fans.

It contains memorabilia of nearly every player born in North Carolina, with special displays set up for the seven Hall of Famers born here.

Museum staffers say keeping this history alive is important because of how universal baseball is.

"You can have completely opposite opinions from somebody on politics and religion. You can be far apart in age and just about anything. But if two people like baseball, they can make that connection," said Marshall Lamm, NC Baseball Museum.

The museum is located in Wilson.

There's also a special display for Hall of Famer Rod Carew, who played a season in Wilson on the field the Baseball Museum calls home.
