Chapel Hill, N.C.— Just days before their first official home basketball game of the 2019-2020 season, the first new face to take the helm of the UNC Women’s Basketball program since the 1980’s is preparing for battle.

Courtney Banghart has traded in her Princeton orange for some good old fashioned Carolina blue.

Banghardt takes the reigns for the Lady Tar Heels after longtime Hall of Fame coach Sylvia Hatchell retired amidst some controversy with players. While it’s difficult to join a storied program like this and start over fresh, Banghardt explained to Spectrum News anchor Carolina Blair how she plans to take this team to a whole new level.
