CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – Kemba Walker scored a team-high 20 points, leading six players in double-figures, as the Charlotte Hornets topped the Chicago Bulls 110-104 in NBA preseason action Monday night at the Spectrum Center.

  • The Hornets defeated the Bulls, 110-104.
  • Kemba Walker scored 20 points.
  • Six other players were in double figures.

The Hornets trailed once in the game, at 3-2 with 10:51 remaining in the first quarter.  Jeremy Lamb started hot early, scoring 11 of Charlotte’s first 17 points of the game.  He would finish with 16 for the night.

“Lamb’s been pretty solid for us on both sides of the ball. He’s rebounding for us,” Hornets head coach James Borrego said after the game.  “He’s pushing the pace and playmaking for us. I’ve been really happy with his floor game. What he gives us defensively is a plus so he has to continue it. It’s a great challenge every night in the NBA, especially at that position.”

Charlotte’s other starters scored a combined 33 points (Marvin Williams 12, Cody Zeller, 14, Nic Batum seven), in the six point victory.

Chicago was led by Zach LaVine.  His 26 points led all scorers, while Justin Holiday had 10, and Antonio Blakeney scored 15.

Former Duke Blue Devils Jabari Parker and Wendell Carter, Jr. suited up for Chicago.  Parker finished with nine, while Carter, Jr. had three.

The Hornets wrap up the preseason Friday, when they travel to Dallas to face the Mavericks.  The regular season begins October 17 as Charlotte hosts the Milwaukee Bucks
