CONCORD, NC – Cox Mill high school guard Wendell Moore announced he will attend Duke University to play basketball upon graduation.

Moore is a five-star prospect, a consensus top-30 player nationally, and considered to be the best player in the state in the class of 2019.

He had narrowed his choices down to the Big Four on Tobacco Road: North Carolina, Duke, NC State and Wake Forest, but in the end, chose Duke.

In fact, Moore said he informed head coach Mike Krzyzewski at the conclusion of his visit to the Durham campus.

“As soon as I left the Duke visit, right before I got in the car, I told him I was coming,” Moore said Monday.  “He was ecstatic. That’s probably the happiest I’ve ever seen him.”

If Moore can live up to his potential, there’s a good chance he will make Krzyzewski even happier down the road.
