Ashley Van Havere is a multimedia journalist at Spectrum News 1 North Carolina. She was raised in Greenville, North Carolina, where she started her journalism career as a news editor and writer for her high school's newspaper, Rampant Lines.
Ashley interned at two news stations before spending her senior year as a Spectrum News Fellow, where she gained skills in news reporting, producing and digital writing. During her time at North Carolina State University, she wrote for the Technician newspaper and had her own segment on the college's news channel PackTV. She graduated with a bachelor’s in communication mass media, with minors in psychology, English and journalism.
Ashley is passionate about connecting with people, serving her community and telling stories that matter. She describes her style as dedicated, committed to service, compassionate and trustworthy.
When she's not at work, she's most likely spending time with family and friends, trying a new restaurant, attending Bible studies with her church community, at the beach or going shopping.
