NORTH CAROLINA -- House Speaker Tim Moore says Jones Street in Raleigh is an option, if President Donald Trump remains unwelcome to give the State of the Union address at the U.S. Capitol.

  • House Speaker Tim Moore sent a letter to President Trump inviting him to NC for the State of the Union address
  • This comes after U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged the president to postpone the address
  • The address is set for Tuesday, January 29

Moore invited the president to give his State of the Union address in the chambers at the General Assembly.

Earlier this week, U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked the president to postpone his address until the government reopens.

He is scheduled to address the joint session of Congress on Tuesday, January 29.

In his letter, House Speaker Moore says President Bill Clinton addressed a joint session of the North Carolina General Assembly in 1997.
