What You Need To Know

  •  The Harlem Globetrotters will play at PNC Arena on Sunday at 3 p.m.

  •  The team formed in 1926

  •  Everyone is asked to bring food for a food drive benefiting the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle

The Globetrotters have been around for almost 100 years, forming in 1926.

Shane "Scooter" Christianson is celebrating his 18th season with the Globetrotters.

"I never went to a Globetrotter game as a kid. Never been. The first time I've ever seen them was on cartoon Scooby-Doo and it was Curly Neal in the cartoon figure spinning the ball on his nose, on his head and all this other stuff," Christianson said.

Scooter was working as a video coordinator and practice player for the Phoenix Suns when he was recruited to the Globetrotters.

COVID-19 shut their operation down for over a year beginning in 2020, but now the team is back, ready to put on a show the way only a Globetrotter can.

“Our mission, man, is just to make people smile. We can go all over the world and just give joy back to families. We actually can come up. We're so approachable. You give us a high five, you can tell us your problems. Hey, we just like you," Christianson said.

The game will also serve as a food drive for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
