NORTH CAROLINA -- Families with students preparing for college can save big this week.

College Application Week is underway and many schools in North Carolina are letting students apply for free.

One school that's new to the list this year is East Carolina University.

NC A&T University, Winston-Salem State University and NC Central are also taking part.

Applications for those select schools will be free until Friday.
