FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. – The Winston-Salem Forsyth School System is asking for the community’s help after two students brought guns to campuses last week.

  • Two students were found with guns at schools in Winston-Salem this week.
  • One was found at Carver High School and another at North Forsyth High School.
  • No one was injured.

One incident happened at Carver High School on Friday.

Police say Anthony Villanueva, 18, had a stolen gun in his front pocket and also resisted arrest.

The other happened at North Forsyth High School, where police say an SRO found a handgun in a bag belonging to Taevon Jolly, 17.

Police say neither students took the guns out, or issued threats.

"As a community, we must start thinking about ways to address why children have access to weapons and why they feel the need to bring them to school," said superintendent Dr. Angela Hairston.
