GREENSBORO, N.C. -- -- Greensboro is hosting the 2020 U.S. Figure Skating Championships for the third time.

Some of the country's most talented skaters will be in the Triad early next year.

Olympic Silver Medalist, Paul Wylie, said he's very excited for the championships to return to Greensboro because he said it will help expand the skating community.

Skaters and aspiring skaters have the chance to see some of the world's best talent right in their hometown.

“They're getting to interact with the skaters and they're watching all of the practices and seeing what it takes. I mean that's inspiring and I think that that's been a huge benefit to the athletes of North Carolina and especially here in Greensboro because they get to be up close and personal for a week with the kids that on their way to the Olympics,” said Wylie.

The championships will take place from January 20-26 and tickets go on sale Friday morning.
