CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- More heat and humidity is on the way for Wednesday with additional storms set to fire up during the afternoon. Temperatures will soar back into the low to mid 90s for much of the Piedmont with heat index values up to and over 100 degrees. Scattered storms are set to fire up once again Wednesday afternoon but should be more "run-of-the-mill" and weaker than Tuesday's. An isolated strong to severe storm cannot be ruled out.

Thursday will feature slightly quieter weather, with isolated storm chances. Rain chances remain minimal through Friday and Saturday but the heat persists, with highs set to remain in the low 90s.
