STANLY COUNTY, N.C. -- Deputies in Stanly County are investigating the shooting deaths of three people. Authorities say a 24-year-old man told neighbors someone shot him inside a home on Canton Road in Albemarle Thursday morning.

  • Four people were found dead and one injured in Albermarle.
  • A family of four lived at the home.
  • Deputies say no suspects are being sought and they are relying on family members and neighbors to piece it together.

When deputies arrived, they found three other people dead. Sheriff Jeff Crisco identified the victims as 74-year-old Donnie Furr, 76-year-old Elaine Furr and their daughter 54-year-old Paula Furr dead inside. Deputies say the 24-year-old was Paula’s son.

Now, they are asking for neighbor and family members' help to try to piece together what happened. “We are not looking for any suspects. From what I understand from investigators, we’re relying on family members and neighbors because this is out of character with everybody here. So it’s shocking to everybody,” said Crisco.

Sheriff Crisco says the 24-year-old went to Carolinas Healthcare System Northeast, where he's stable, but expected to undergo surgery.
