BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. – The woman accused of kidnapping her 4-month-old daughter in Bladen County went before a judge this week.

  • Juanita Askew has been charged with abducting her 4-month-old daughter.
  • She is in jail under a $500,000 bond.
  • Lonnie Williams has been charged in assisting in the abduction.

Authorities say Askew kidnapped her 4-month-old daughter, Lonnnisha, who she did not have custody of and was not allowed unsupervised visits with. Earlier this week, she grabbed the child from a daycare and ran out the door.

Lonnisha was found safe and has been returned to her foster family.

Askew was given a $500,000 bond and is currently at the Bladen County jail.

A second suspect, Lonnie Williams, 29, has also been charged for assisting in the abduction. His relation to the Askews is unknown.
