BURKE COUNTY, N.C. -- Repairs are underway on a sinkhole in Burke County.

  • Recent flooding caused a large portion of McDuffy Road in Connelly Springs to cave in. 
  • Crews have closed down the road and are working to repair the sinkhole.
  • Workers say the repairs will take several more days.

Recent flooding created on a sinkhole on McDuffy Road in Connelly Springs. 

A large portion of the road caved in and a pick up truck even drove into the gap. 

Crews closed down the road and brought in dump trucks filled with gravel after repairing the broken culvert. 

Workers on scene say repairs will take several more days.
