Gaston County Parks and Recreation teamed up with the Department of Health and Human Services to create the annual "Summer Park Hop."

The Park Hop helps people explore 14 parks around Gaston County.

You download a passport, and at each park there's a trivia question to answer. Once you complete the passport, send it in and you could win a prize.

Parents in Belmont say this is a great way for families to bond and enjoy the outdoors.

"I think it's great. It gets people out because you answer the trivia questions for each one, so you kind of have to go there to send in your answers," says mom Kara Garr.

"I love it. Anything that can get the children out to play and not in front of the TV screen or a phone is a-okay with me," said Belmont resident William Brandon.

The Park Hop runs until August 9.
