NORTH CAROLINA -- The National Weather Service is confirming eight different tornadoes as a result of the severe weather that struck the Tar Heel State on April 19.

As of now, the total number of tornadoes has yet to be determined, meaning the number of reported incidents could go up from eight.

Most counties in the state were under tornado watches throughout the day, with many central NC counties under warnings during the afternoon hours. 

 

 

Tornadoes were reported in places such as Chapel Hill, Siler City, Hillsborough, Dortches, Spivey's Corner, Glenview, Weldon, and Robbins.
