CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Pack the umbrella Tuesday! Look for scattered, light showers through the first half of the day before a cold front moving in late in the afternoon and evening brings a quick shot of heavier rain and some gusty winds. By 6pm or so, a line of rain and perhaps even a weak thunderstorm will be crossing th I-77 corridor -- just in time for the evening commute -- before clearing quickly to the east by early evening. Ahead of this front, temperatures will warm into the mid and upper 60s.

Behind the front, rain may make a quick change over to some light snow for the mountain zone before all moisture clears out by Wednesday morning. Sunshine will prevail  through Valentine's Day with highs in the 50s to low 60s!

Rain chances pick up again Friday into the weekend with the approach of our next cold front.
