16 years after going into remission she decided to do an Ironman triathlon to celebrate her years for good health.

An Ironman Triathlon is a 2.4 mile swim, immediately followed by a 112 mile bike ride, and then a 26.2 mile marathon run. She finished the Ironman in Cozumel Mexico in 2018.

Dr. Bailey-Dorton said "It’s kind of similar to almost being in chemo because you want to stop and it doesn't feel good but then again you just want to keep going because you want to get to that goal. You want to get to that finish line."

Dr. Bailey-Dorton practices family medicine at Atrium Health and continues to encourage her patients at the Levine Cancer Institute to incorporate a healthy diet and exercise into their treatment.
