A very quiet weather setup is now in place around the region. A sprawling area of high pressure, currently over the Midwest, will slowly work through the eastern US over the next couple of days. The result for us will be quiet weather, and a nice chance to dry things out.

We will continue to have plenty of sunshine today with mountain highs in the 40s but piedmont highs in the 60s....a great day to spend some time outside.

Great football weather is on tap for the Panthers game this evening. Under a clear sky, temps will fall from the 50s in the 40s as the game progresses, so take the jackets.

Tuesday will again feature sunshine, but highs will be a bit cooler than today.

Clouds will increase later Wednesday, but Wednesday will remain dry.

Our next storm system then arrives Thursday. Rain will become likely during the day, and the shower chances will likely linger into Friday. Rain totals could again exceed 1" in many locations.

As the system pulls away, some snow is likely in the mountains later Friday and Friday night.

At this point, the upcoming weekend looks nice with sunshine and cool temperatures.
