CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The big low pressure area that has been plaguing the area for a couple of days is on the way out today. Our mountain areas will continue to have clouds and some showers today (and even a few snow showers this evening), but a lot of sunshine is building through the foothills and piedmont with highs well into the 50s.

  • Look for clear and chilly conditions tonight with lows in the 30s
  • We will enjoy plenty of sunshine Monday and Tuesday with temperatures a little above average
  • Clouds will increase Wednesday, and then our next system will arrive Thursday

Look for clear and chilly conditions tonight with lows in the 30s.

We will enjoy plenty of sunshine Monday and Tuesday with temperatures a little above average for this time of year.

Clouds will increase Wednesday, and then our next system will arrive Thursday.

Rain will overspread the region Thursday, and showers will likely continue into much of Friday. On the back side of this system, snow will likely kick in for many mountain areas Friday.

Following that Thursday-Friday system, at this point the upcoming weekend looks quiet with lots of sun.
