WILMINTON, N.C. -- The big low pressure area that has been plaguing the area for a couple of days is on the way out. Many of us will have a good deal of sun today as highs warm into the 60s.

  • Look for clear and cool conditions tonight with lows in the lower 40s
  • We will enjoy plenty of sunshine Monday and Tuesday with temperatures near to a little above average
  • Clouds will increase Wednesday, and then our next system will arrive Thursday

The rain with that departing system pushed Wilmington's yearly rainfall over 100 inches yesterday, and our yearly surplus is now over a staggering 44 inches!

Look for clear and cool conditions tonight with lows in the lower 40s in many spots.

We will enjoy plenty of sunshine Monday and Tuesday with temperatures near to a little above average for this time of year.

Clouds will increase Wednesday, and then our next system will arrive Thursday.

Rain will overspread the region Thursday, and showers will likely continue into much of Friday. Some of the rain could again be heavy, especially Thursday night into Friday morning.

Following that Thursday-Friday system, at this point the upcoming weekend looks quiet with lots of sun.
