WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Enjoy one more day of dry weather Thursday before another low pressure system brings rain back to the region Friday and into the weekend.

High level clouds will continue to stream into the area Thursday, leading to a day of "dimmed" sunshine. Highs will be seasonable in the mid 50s to low 60s.

By Friday morning, rain will begin spreading in from the south. Rain will continue throughout the day Friday and linger into Saturday of the upcoming weekend. Severe storms will be possible both Friday and Saturday afternoon with a "Marginal" threat along the immediate coast both days. Localized flash flooding may be possible as we'll look for 2"- 4"+ of rain through Sunday morning. This has prompted the National Weather Service to issue Flash Flood Watches for all areas south of US-64 through Saturday evening.

Lingering showers will be possible into early Sunday, but by late in the day, things will begin to dry out with sunshine returning by Monday of next week!
