A big winter storm has brought an array of impacts to the region. For the mountains, foothills, and areas a little north and west of the Charlotte metro, big-time snows have occurred with over one foot likely when all is totaled in many spots. Around the Charlotte metro, it was a mixture of some snow, then lots of sleet and freezing rain. East of Charlotte, mainly a chilly rain for the eastern part of the viewing area.

While the heaviest precipitation exits this afternoon, bouts of mostly light precipitation will continue tonight into Monday. Temperatures at the surface and aloft will remain cool enough for a wintry mix, and some light additional accumulations are possible.

Sunshine will return Tuesday and Wednesday.
