GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Patchy high clouds will keep overnight lows from being as cold as Thursday morning. Look for lows in the upper 20 to low 30s.

  • Highs will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s Thursday
  • Cloudy and cold for Saturday
  • A Winter Storm Watch is in effect beginning Saturday evening

Friday will be another chilly one with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s under sunshine filtered through high clouds.

Cloudy and cold for Saturday but most of the day will be dry. By late Saturday afternoon or Saturday evening precipitation starting as rain will probably change over to snow and continue through Sunday as a wintry mix of snow and sleet. That wintry mix is expected to stick around into Monday.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect beginning Saturday evening and continuing into Monday evening for much of central and western North Carolina from the Triangle to the Triad, Charlotte and into Asheville.

There are still time for things to change so stay tuned as we will continue to refine the forecast as this winter event gets closer.
