Michael Johns, 42, struggled with addiction and tried to end his life by freezing to death.
Instead, a homeless man called for help and Johns spent six weeks in a coma.
He lost his legs, but found a path to recovery with religion and the help of the Salvation Army.
“The season came around and I was applying for seasonal jobs at Big Lots and Sam’s Club. And then somebody told me I could ring the bell and I thought ‘yeah, I could ring a bell. Perfect job for a man sitting in a wheelchair with no legs',” said Johns.
