CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police have identified the victim of a deadly Saturday night shooting at the Belle Haven apartment complex in northeast Charlotte.

Twenty-one year old Javon Sherwood was identified as the victim.

Police were called to the complex just before 7:30 p.m., Saturday night, about gunshots in the complex.

They found Sherwood in the parking lot with a bullet wound. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

Witnesses were interviewed in the complex as officers tried to keep evidence from being contaminated by rain.

Early investigations suggest drugs may be a motive in the murder.

Right now, there is not suspect in the case.
