CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg's Animal Care & Control unit is on its way to reaching a record-breaking year for adoptions.

AC&C says it has had 142 adoptions since November 24.

Pet lovers can now adopt a dog or cat with all fees waived in favor of a donation. If people aren't able to adopt, AC&C will accept $25 donations for a gift certificate that covers all adoption fees except pet licenses for another pet lover through June 2019. They are available through December 31.
