WILMINGTON, N.C. -- A big storm system continues to roll through the plains today. Ahead of that system in the southern plains and Lower Mississippi Valley, severe weather was widespread Friday into Saturday morning.

  • Here in our area, we will continue to have good shower chances today and tonight
  • Temperatures will be fairly mild with highs in the mid to upper 60s for most
  • The cold front will work into our area tomorrow

On the northwest side of that system, another big, early-season snow event is unfolding from the northern plains into the midwest.

Here in our area, we will continue to have good shower chances today and tonight as the system slowly approaches. Temperatures will be fairly mild with highs in the mid to upper 60s for most. Temperatures will then hold steady or even slowly rise overnight.

The cold front will work into our area tomorrow and I will maintain chances of showers in addition to a few storms. While I don't expect the storms to be overly widespread, a couple of storms Sunday could be locally strong to severe.

Much colder air returns by Tuesday and we will remain chilly through the end of the week.

Another system will then approach by Saturday next weekend.
