CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A suspicious package at the Duke Energy building prompted an evacuation and road closure in Uptown Charlotte.

Charotte-Mecklenburg Police and Charlotte Fire Department at the scene confirmed that package was found near West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at South Tryon streets.

The road reopened soon after it closed.

Police said that employees had located a small package, a casette tape in a Manilla envelope, and asked CMPD to check it out.

After investigating, authorities determined that the package was inspected and determined to be non-hazardous and non-incediary.
