CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A bridal boutique in the Queen City is helping victims of Hurricane Florence say yes to their dream dress.

  • A team at Savvy Bride Boutique will head to Wilmington Tuesday
  • They are planning to take dresses to help brides who are victims of the storm
  • They want to make sure brides get their dream wedding

The staff at Savvy Bride Boutique in South End is taking 10 dresses to Wilmington to give to brides whose dresses were damaged during the storm.

Allie Krause, the director of sales and operations, says the team came up with the plan after evacuee brides came to the store to try on dresses back in September.

"Quickly we figured out that some of them were from Wilmington and had evacuated, and some of them had no idea what they were going home to, and what home looked like for them," Krause said.

Krause says the team wants to make sure the brides get their dream wedding without having to worry about the cost of a new dress.

"Planning a wedding probably isn't at the top of your list of things to do when your home is in a questionable state. But that being said, it's still something that should be special and valued," she said.

Krause and her team will head to Wilmington Tuesday to help the brides shop, and find their dream gown.
