Correction, they had a prime time match-up against ACC foe Boston College. The Demon Deacons and athletic director Ron Wellman announced that the game originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m., will now be played two hours earlier.

You can thank Hurricane Florence for moving the game to 5:30 p.m. Wake is coming off a 51-20 beat down of Towson on Saturday. The conference match up has been a close one. The three match ups from 2014-16 were decide by only 12 points. Wake Forest changed that with the 34-10 victory last season.3

The road team has won the last four meetings. The Deacs were prepared for a quick turnaround with only five days to prepare. The first time since 2012 that Wake will have played on five days. Now, you can shave a couple of hours off the preparation. The decision was made between the schools and the ACC.

At the time, the pattern of the storm made this time the best option. The parties exhausted all other options including moving the game to another date. The safety of the fans, officials and players made this decision the best for all involved. As with any hurricane, the pattern can shift and Wake Forest will be watching over the next 24 hours to make other changes if needed.
