CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. – A Shelby man is behind bars after being accused of killing his seven-week-old son.

• Stephen Moore has been charged with the murder of his 7 month old.
• Authorities say the infant was found to have a broken femur and a lacerated liver.
• Moore was denied bond.

Deputies arrested Stephen Moore, 22, Wednesday.

Investigators say he was left alone with the child while its mother was fixing a bottle. When the mother returned the baby was having trouble breathing.

The baby was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Further investigation revealed the infant had a broken femur and a lacerated liver.

Moore has been charged with murder. He was taken to the Cleveland County Jail without bond.
