CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The hottest weather of the year thus far will arrive Sunday and be with us through at least Wednesday of next week.

• Warm and humid weather will arrive overnight
• It will remain hot and humid, but not as oppressively humid as Thursday
• Storms possible later in the weekend

Warm and humid weather will arrive overnight with some slightly drier air working in for the day Friday.

It will remain hot and humid, but not as oppressively humid as Thursday.  I don't see any good chance for storms Friday but we'll crank up the storm machine later in the weekend.

As mentioned above, expect Sunday through Wednesday temperatures in the mid 90s with a heat index in the 100s.

In direct sunlight, add another 10 to 15 degrees on how this can affect you and your pets.
