Legendary comedian Don Rickles has died. 

Rickles' publicist says he passed away Thursday morning in Los Angeles from kidney failure. 

The Queens native attended Newtown High School in Elmhurst. 

The insult comic rose to fame in the '50s and went on to headline casinos and nightclubs across the country.

He often made appearances on late-night talk shows and was known for roasting celebrities. 

Rickles' career spanned more than a half-century. 

Later in his career, Rickles portrayed the voice of Mr. Potato Head in the "Toy Story" animated film franchise. 

Rickles leaves behind his wife, two children and two grandchildren. 

Don Rickles was 90 years old.
