CHARLOTTE -- Friends and neighbors came together Saturday to help a Charlotte firefighter who's battling cancer.
Jeff McGill was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August. On Saturday, his fellow firefighters held a barbecue lunch to raise money for his medical bills.
McGill says he's thanful for the support.
"That's the one thing that's been so overwhelming to me is just to see how much love is in the Charlotte community," he said.
McGill is also a minister and says his faith, along with the support of loved ones, helps him get through this difficult time.
