Raleigh-- The holidays are nearly here, and November’s Our State Magazine is getting us ready for Thanksgiving.  This month’s issue takes a look at some holiday food favorites like “dressing” not “stuffing,” a staple in many North Carolina homes this month.  In addition to dressing recipes, the issue also takes a look at some dishes  created by Chef Lynn Wells that you can easily put on your own Thanksgiving menu.

The magazine also takes a look all things North Carolina oysters.  From the opening of the season, to a selection guide and a oysterman’s story, this issue has everything you need to know if you’re new to the slimy treat or if it’s the way to your heart.

This issue also pays tribute to the service men and women who’ve served North Carolina, through a touching photo essay, that spotlights Veterans Day celebrations including the one that takes place at the Carolina Field of Honor in Kernersville.
