BUFFALO, N.Y.-- Hundreds of runners got covered with their favorite colors in Buffalo's Canalside District.
They took part in the Color Run 5k race Saturday morning, the world's largest race event series.
Participants were covered from head to toe in colored corn starch as they approached the finish line.
This year The Color Run partnered with 'Shoes on Students,' which provides shoes to students in athletic programs across the region.
Organizers say the run-- also known as the Happiest 5k On The Planet-- was held in more than 300 countries last year.
"It's fantastic, the run was a blast,” said Jenna and Damon Riggs from Detroit. “We came all the way from Detroit for this."
"It's nice to just to bring people together from Buffalo, it's something we can all sort of relate to,” said Mike Stahlman, a Buffalo resident. “I'll definitely be doing it again."
The race was followed by a festival with music, dancing, and even more color throwing.
