BUFFALO N.Y. — A new restaurant is set to hit Hertel Avenue to replace an old favorite.
One of the owners of the Blue Monk held a soft opening Saturday for the new Sterling Tap and Wurst.
The craft beer bar looks to bring a different flavor to the area with a menu that includes 15 types of sausages. The opening comes close to one year after the previous tenant, Sterling Place Tavern, closed its doors.
Owner Kevin Brinkworth says this is another positive addition to an up-and-coming Hertel Avenue.
"It's amazing to see the amount of foot traffic on the street right now and how they support the retail shops, the restaurants, all the different businesses," said Kevin Brinkworth, Sterling Tap and Wurst Owner.
"I grew up in North Buffalo, went to school here forever and all the rest of it so its nice to see the neighborhood making a comeback," said General Manager, Carmen Huffnagle.
Sterling Tap and Wurst will hold its grand opening Wednesday July 1st.
