TAMPA, Fla. — Alison Kalb and her fiancé Ben Peatfield, a UK citizen, both work abroad in Germany. Kalb flew into Florida last week but Peatfield wasn’t set to arrive until just before the wedding at the end of March.
Those plans had to change on the fly following President Trump's announcement Wednesday evening that travel by foreign nationals from coronavirus-affected countries in Europe would be suspended for 30 days starting Friday at midnight.
Kalb had to scramble to re-book before the Friday cutoff, spending hours on the phone with the airline, but eventually, she got Ben on a plane this morning.
