He made his first impression with the city as a member of the University of Louisville men's basketball team, playing under Hall of Fame Coach Denny Crum. He would leave UofL and make his mark in the NBA as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers.

When he retired from basketball, it was back to Louisville for Bridgeman who used his talents to become a successful businessman and entrepreneur. He owned restaurants, magazines and even a percentage of his former team, the Bucks.
