As Tropical Storm Beryl approached the South Texas, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) called upon Missouri Task Force 1 (MO-TF1) to help.

MO-TF1 left Sunday, July 7, and plans to arrive in College Station, Texas, Monday afternoon.

Per the Boone County Fire Protection District, MO-TF1 was activated as a Type III task force which consists of 37 members plus 10 ground support personnel with an emphasis on water rescue capabilities.

Tennessee Task Force 1 and MO-TF1 planned to meet at College Station and will carry out their mission orders from there.

Also deployed from MO-TF1 were three members as part of a FEMA incident support team. Those three will take the rolls of Operations Section Chief, Communications Unit Leader and a Hazmat Specialist. They too will be working from College Station.
