ST. LOUIS — A basketball jersey and Cardinals bird hat are a couple of new giveaways this season at Busch Stadium, as well as fan favorites.
In addition to the St. Louis Cardinals hockey jersey and the soccer jersey, a new basketball jersey will debut. It is red, sleeveless, with a large STL logo on the center and has navy piping with white stars around the neck and the armholes.
“It is a really cool basketball jersey,” said Megan Eberhart, director of promotions and events. “Cardinals Basketball Jersey is going to be an item that all Cardinals fans are going to have to collect.”
Back this season are the giveaway purses in May. They are caramel colored with a gold chain strap. This year, the purses will come with an additional mystery strap that will be revealed on game day.
“You have one of three options whenever you come through the gates and you won’t know which one until you open the purse,” Eberhart said.
One of Eberhart’s favorite items is the plush Cardinal bird hat, which will be given away in April to 25,000 fans coming through the gates. There are no age requirements.
“Chip and Brad made this popular on our broadcast, Bally Sports, last year,” Eberhart said. “They got creative with their headwear, and we thought, ‘Oh my goodness, we have to add this to our calendar.’ ”
This season, fans also can receive a mystery size jersey, small through XXL.
“We hear from fans that sometimes they prefer a different size than we offer at the gates, so that day is your opportunity to hopefully get your size when you come through or swap with friends around the ballpark who maybe have the size you desire,” Eberhart said.
In June, “Stanley” Musial tumblers will be given out to 25,000 fans for those 16 and older.
Children’s items this year include a baseball glove, a jersey, sunglasses, a Build-A-Bear furry friend and more.

From Pickleball Night and Pride Day to Margaritaville Night and Sesame Street Day, there are a variety of theme tickets at Busch Stadium this season.
Some of the new theme nights include Pickleball Night where fans will take home a Cardinals themed Pickleball paddle cover; Metro Boomin Night will feature an exclusive Metro Boomin bobblehead; and Celebrate Disability Night will feature an exclusive Cardinals T-shirt that celebrates the disability community for ticket holders to take home.
“We have something for everybody,” said Bethany White, manager of theme tickets.
This year will be the second Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Day where tickets come with a St. Louis Cardinals T-shirt featuring a dragon on the bat instead of the Cardinal birds.
Back this season is Harry Potter Night where ticket holders will receive a jersey with all four Hogwarts houses on it.
“Last year was the first year and it was a huge hit,” White said. “We’re excited to bring it back.”
Fans will notice that Star Wars Night will not feature a wearable item this year, but they will take home a Jordan “Skywalker” bobblehead instead.
For Teachers Night, ticket holders will receive a quarter-zip, quilted pullover that features Cardinals on a pencil.
“We try to come up with new ways to freshen old themes,” White said. “We love coming up with ideas and seeing what’s popular.”
