ST. LOUIS—Here’s everything you need to know about an unofficial holiday in the city of St. Louis, the home opener for the St. Louis Cardinals, with events happening inside and outside Busch Stadium April 4.
10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: An official Opening Day Pep Rally at Ballpark Village features prizes and ticket giveaways and appearances by Fredbird and Cardinals alumni. The event is free.
12:00 p.m.: Busch Stadium gates open. All fans 21 and older will receive a free 2024 Cardinals schedule, courtesy of Budweiser.
12:05 p.m.: St. Louis Cardinals take batting practice.
1:00 p.m. Miami Marlins take batting practice.
1:30 p.m. Television coverage begins on Bally Sports Midwest and streaming on the Bally Sports App.
1:35 pm.: Radio coverage can be heard on KMOX 1120 AM and 98.7 FM, with pregame coverage starting at 1:35 p.m. A Spanish language broadcast can beheard on WIJR 880 AM.
2:30 p.m.: Pregame ceremonies begin, featuring the Budweiser Clydesdales, Fredbird and Team Fredbird, recognition of Chairman and CEO Bill DeWitt Jr, President Bill DeWitt III and President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak, the introduction of Cardinals Hall of Fame players arriving on 2024 Ford Mustang convertibles. The team will also recognize “Hometown Heroes” who played for the Cardinals.
2:48 p.m.: The 2024 Cardinals will be introduced as they arrive on Ford F-150 trucks, followed by the introduction of the Miami Marlins.
3:00 p.m.: Michael B. Whit will sing the National Anthem with a Color Guard provided by the Fort Leonard Wood Joint Service Color Guard. Members of the 2004 National League Championship team will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
3:15 p.m.: Lance Lynn is scheduled to throw the first pitch against Miami. A starting pitcher for Miami hasn't been announced.
