TAMPA, Fla. — A crowd of about 70,000 people is expected to descend on Raymond James Stadium Saturday for an Ed Sheeran concert.
The British singer-songwriter, whose latest album Subtract is atop the Billboard Artist 100 chart, is touring across the country with stadium shows as well as small theater and auditorium performances as well.
Saturday’s show at Raymond James Stadium begins at 6 p.m. Parking lots open at 2:30 p.m. with gates opening at 4:30 p.m.
There will be heavy traffic around the stadium streets — Dale Mabry Highway, Himes Avenue, Columbus Drive and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. Also, Tampa Bay Boulevard will be closed between Dale Mabry and Himes Avenue beginning at noon Saturday.
Drivers and pedestrians are advised to allow for extra travel time and to travel through the area.
Also, Sheeran will be playing a smaller show Friday evening at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. That show, a part of smaller performances in 14 cities, coincides with Sheeran’s stadium tour.
The Ruth Eckerd Hall show, at 7:30 p.m., is sold out.
