Mercy Flight out of Western New York is now back in service following a helicopter crash that killed two people last month.

The serve had been on pause due to safety concerns.

Mercy Flight says it’s two other helicopters are safe to fly after being looked at by third party inspectors.

Mercy Flight Central, out of Canandaigua, has been filling in since the dead crash on April 26.

The agency says this tragedy has changed them forever, but know that patients still need the service.

One of the pilots killed, Jim Sauer of Churchville, was laid to rest Monday. Sauer served in the Army National Guard and the Rochester Police Department. He also flew for the state police as a civilian pilot.

Investigators are still working to figure out what caused the crash.
