BESSEMER CITY, N.C. - The man who's accused of killing a three-year-old Gaston County girl pleaded not guilty in court Thursday.        

William McCullen is charged with the first degree murder of Jordyn Dumont.    

McCullen was dating Dumont’s mother at the time of her death.   

The girl's body was found in the woods near her Bessemer City home in august.     

The state will seek life in prison in his trial.       

The judge set McCullen's bond at $2 million.
