HENRIETTA, N.Y. -- A special event at a Henrietta farm had visitors seeing red Sunday.
That's because it was "Tomato Sunday," a day dedicated to all things tomato.
The event brought tomato lovers to Gro-Moore Farms for varieties of the fruit.
Visitors could sample salsas, relishes, salad dressings or just some plain home-grown tomatoes.
Farmers there say the crops are sweeter this year thanks to the warm weather.
"The tomatoes tend to be a little sweeter, because you have had the heat to give it a little bit more flavor, a little higher sugar content," said Joe Moore, Gro-Moore Farms manager. "That's compared to last year, where it was more of a wet summer. You can't take the water out of the ground, you can always add it, but you can't take it away."
Gro-Moore Farms hosts a variety of fruit and vegetable-based weekends throughout the year.
