BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Students got the chance to share their own vantage point of the community using photography.

Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo met with students from the P-TECH program in Binghamton on Tuesday. P-TECH allows students to earn their high school diploma and an associate's degree at no cost.

Students took more than 4,000 photos for the "Through Our Eyes" project and said there were three main themes that were captured.

"You see hope and you think of light and bright things. You think of despair and you think of gray and kind of stormy colors and everything. Then with pride you think of let's say an American flag to show pride for your country and that kind of captures everything in the area," said Callie Grassi, 10th grader.

The students' work will be on display next week at Binghamton's First Friday at Enviren Calibrations.
